What is First Aid Training?
Emergency plans must be prepared as early as possible for every family before sending to the Medical Expert or Hospital. Why? Yes.. we never known what will happen in the future or even 5 minutes in advance.
You often hear of our neighbor or relative died because they’re late to cope any urgent matter before the Doctor’s coming. Traffic accident, small incident, falling and bleeding, home accident and so on need our prompt response before brought to Hospital. Minor injured or limited illness are also to be our concern.
What should we do for First Aid Training?
You will be conducted by qualified trainer which usually have many years of practical field experience. Before taking course, you must ask them that the trainings are based on International Protocol of the Red Cross and follow the International Guideline of Authorized Association. In USA like ILCOR or in Europe like ERC.
List below that you should consider to be followed:
- Basic Life Support, Respiratory and Circulatory System, Recovery Position, Choking Management and Wounds and Bleeding Management.
Beside that you can also take the other First Aid Trainings such as how to handle Sprain, Strain, Burns, fractures, shock, fainting, dislocation, poisoning, Bite, sting and the other medical emergencies.
All training above can be applicable for daily life and suitable for mother, father, housemaid, and also for your children.
My suggestions:
1. Injuries, accidents and emergency situations can happen anywhere and anytime. It’s therefore essential and reassuring if you can prepare yourself to handle such situations and manage the medical emergency on hand before treated by the Experts.
2. Training you take should be customized with your needs at home or office. Don’t take all kinds of trainings because it would take time and cost.
3. Training is better if done on the site or spot, conducted by bilingual Trainer, and awarded with a Certificate of Competence/Attendance after completion of the course. Maybe holding the Identity Card is recommended if someday you help your neighbor of friend and they will trust us because we have ever taken the First Aid Training before. The Card must be valid.
4. First Aid Training is qualified if achieved 30% theory and 70% practical.
5. The course design must build the participant’s confidence to make the best use of these skills when it really matters.
6. Refresh Training is needed if you forget or feel non- confidence for your skills.
