In this post, I would like to explain more specific about back pain which caused by nerve problems. We have to admit that back pain can disturb our daily activities and finally it will decrease our work performance or productivity result. It would be worse if followed by the difficulty of urinate or psycho disorders.

Meanwhile, back pain can get more risk if you have obesity, unlike sport activity, have heavy working, like consume alcohol or smoker or have inappropriate of body posture in sitting or standing.

There are some nerve problems of back pain as follows:

1. Spondylolisthesis

Spondylolisthesis is an abnormality caused by slipped movement of one disc in spinal vertebre. The disc is actually attached together with adjacent vertebre but under pressure can make a squeezed, strecthed and twisted, although it’s very small degree.

2. HNP (Herniated Nucleus Pulposus)

HNP is the an abnormality of spinal vertebre with misleadingly or slipped disc and make it severe pain. You will feel more painful if you bend of your body or sitting.

3. Spondylosis

Spondylosis is also called as Spinal Osteoarthritis. This is a degenerative disease that can eliminate of structure and function of the normal spine.

4. Spinal Stenosis

Narrowing of the spinal canal and followed by nerve compression is the most causes of Spinal Stenosis. This abnormality is usually happen on the people above 50 years.

To detect these abnormalities are with x-ray, CT-Scan, MRI, Myelogram or Electromyogram. X-ray is become the first choice of examination to see HNP, Spondylolisthesis or Spondylosis because it’s still accurate, simple and also inexpensive.

We must know that with x-ray test has some limitation like cannot see nerve, muscle or soft tissue imaging. MRI and CT-Scan is the most recommended because it can visualize of structure, content, soft tissue and 3-Dimensional images.

Those abnormalities can occur not only for lumbar spine but also for cervical (neck) and thoracal spines.

How to treat Back pain problems?

I think most people will choose the non-surgical method. Surgery way is the last resort after all medications have been tried and didn’t get healing. Pain medication or pain killer is the 1st attempt to reduce the severe pain and to be continued with special exercise, stretching, Spinal manipulation, physiotherapy, anti-inflammatory medication, spinal injection, etc. Most people will feel significant improvement after getting rehabilitation process.
