Information of Abdominal and Pelvic CT Scan
CT Scan of abdomen is usually one package with pelvic region. This test is no pain like doing ultrasound or MRI examinations but CT Scan is using x-ray radiation. The advantages of this equipment, it can detect of patient’s organs like soft tissue, blood vessels, lymph nodes, bone and so on.
CT Scan Patient would be inserted within the machine circles up to their body in central line of the machine to get various angles of positions. The computer will record it as some images on the screen with multiple slices projections.
This examination can diagnose signs of infection, inflammation process, organ diseases on the liver, gall bladder, pancreas, intestines, stomach, spleen, kidneys and intra abdominal organs.
Below is the normal example of Abdomen CT Scan Result for Male from Radiologist which performed with or without oral contrast media:
Liver : Normal in size and contour. Homogenous density, no sign of
SOL. Vascular and biliary system are normal.
No sign of ascites. No sign of pleural effusion.
Gall Bladder : Normal in size and contour. No sign of stone/SOL.
Pancreas : Normal in size and contour, homogen density, no sign of SOL.
Kidney : Normal in size and contour. Normal cortex and medulla ratio.
Normal pelviocalyses system. No sign of stone/SOL.
No sign of enlarge of supra renal glands.
Spleen : Normal in size and contour. Homogen density. No sign of SOL.
Aorta : Normal in caliber and contour.
No sign of para aortic lymphadenopathy.
Bladder : Normal in size and contour. Normal bladder wall.
No sign of stone/mass.
Prostate : Normal in size and contour. Homogen density, no sign of
focal pathologic lesion.
Small and large bowel are within normal.
Impression : No abnormality in the intra abdominal organ.

Radiologist or Expert Doctor will interpret the CT Scan images and would be sent back to requisition Doctor or Specialist. Base of this result, Doctor will give the treatment or medication for the patients.
Overall this machine is very safe although using x-ray radiation with the low dosage compare with the benefit which received by the patients.
